BOMBE CLIMATICHE E STILE DI VITA SOSTENIBILE

Authors   Ciappelloni R

Abstract   The editorial exposes some reflections on the so-called Carbon Bombs, projects for the extraction of fossil fuels: oil, coal and gas, which will increase the level of CO2 in the atmosphere. These mining activities, if completed to the end, are capable of preventing the reaching of the 1.5 ° C increase limit of global warming, as requested by the Paris agreements of 2015. The subject is of utmost importance, but the public opinion attention is distracted by other topics such as the pandemic and the ongoing war conflict, which pushes to deep exploit the energy sources based on fossil fuels, currently available. Unfortunately, information activities from civil society do not abound in order to guide public opinion towards alternative energy models based on the green economy. The position of the various countries reflects national interests and does not agree to environmentalist requests. In this context, the scientific community has taken a position on the urgency of stopping the carbon bombs, carrying out orientation studies and economic analyzes. Today an approach based on the use of resources promoted by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is more necessary. Society is required to accept and promote individual lifestyle choices, based on the concept of sustainability.
