Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Umbria e delle Marche ''Togo Rosati''

Abstract  Following the seism in Central Italy, which affected Umbria, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo in 2016/2017, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Umbria e delle Marche decided to be of assistance, both from the sanitary veterinary and the information technology's sides. In fact, it gathered each region's necessities and created EMERGENZA 2.0 - a platform with the aim of easing the collection and the filing of information and the concerning papers, facilitating and hastening the circulation of such information amongst the different entities involved, and supporting the various institutions in making decisions. This last goal was achieved through the analysation of the question concerning the assignment of temporary solutions to the entitled breeders, through a functionality/With this purpose comes a functionality, which compiles - for each bred species - a breeder classification based on assignment priority. The required evaluation/calculation was fulfilled by the use of an index of similarity to a prototype, in this case the "devastated" livestock farming. The employed parameters were identified through expert opinion. Such functionality is ready to be used in any non-epidemic future emergency and pledges to facilitate the abovementioned decision-making process. Moreover, with appropriate adjustments, it can be also useful in other contexts, for example: establishing priorities for breeding farms' surveys, compiling rankings for animal welfare.
