Abstract During the year 2020, 673 isolations carried out from human clinical cases, animals, food and the environment were notified to the Regional Reference Center of Umbria. Among the human clinical cases, 193 Campylobacter and 156 of Salmonella strains were reported. Salmonella Typhimurium and its monophasic variant are the most frequently isolated serotypes (4.49% and 41.67% respectively). Campylobacter jejuni is the most frequently species (86.01%) in cases of human campylobacteriosis. A very significant data is represented by the 14 isolations of Listeria monocytogenes in humans. Almost all enteropathogenic bacteria of non-human origin notified are represented by Salmonella strains (n. 216). Monophasic variant of Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Derby are the most frequently isolated from food. The data on antibiotic resistance relating to human-derived Salmonella strains show an increase in strains with multi-resistance compared to the previous year.
