Abstract     This editorial is dedicated to the smart versions of the wall newspaper and posters, as particular devices that can now immediately connect the reader to an informational cloud. Wall newspaper and Posters represent a standard editorial product actually useful for disseminating information to a high number of users in a passive way. Wall prints, thanks to the spread of personal information technology based on devices such as: smartphones, tablets, palmtop computers, can now receive particular inserts that add interactivity to the publication. QRCode, NFC microchip, augmented reality trigger, placed on printed surface, can allow the reader to have immediate access to: documents, datasets, images, multimedia files, as well as to Network services (microblogging and social network) for a feedback with the authors of the work. Furthermore, a "smart" wall publication, due to its particular location, typically outside, in passageways or meeting areas, can easily reach a large number of readers. The interesting part of these wall publications does not lie in the inserts itself, but in the hypertextual remediation they allow. This implies the adoption of complex management strategies that make the "expanded contents" of the poster, suitable for users standing in a particular reading context. Hybrid prints can thus manage appropriate access to qualified scientific documentation (continuously updated), using simple inexpensive electronic devices in the reader's hands. Finally, a smart journal located in appropriate places represents an "advertising" object capable of presenting the communicative value of an institution for its users. Be it a Library or a university campus.
