Abstract  This editorial is dedicated to informatic tools for the facilitation of agrifood and zootechnical activities. The opportunity to deal with the topic is the countryside widespread return of young farmers and breeders. The birth of family-run farms, focusing on the food quality, represents an interesting new economic trend. This phenomenon can be considered crucial for the advancement in high quality food production and in "characterizing territory" product offer. On the professional level many farmers are no longer Agronomists or Veterinarians, but Architects, Psychologists, Economists and others. So, it is possible to introduce advanced already available technologies to exploit the information potential of computer networks and services accessible via mobile devices such as smartphones or Tablet. The introduction of this kind of innovations allow new farms to jump or override (Leapfrog) a backwardness situation, competing successfully with the more traditional ones, already on the market. For this, it is now necessary to operate on the communication lever, in order to inform the individual farms, connecting them with each other and with interlocutors of the reference agrifood market. This thanks to specific and substantially "Library based" services. In this perspective a relevant issue are the new multi-channel resources (such as social networks, dedicated Apps, Web hypertexts, printed texts) that allows to convey specific contents for agriculture and animal husbandry farmers. Experimental initiatives, based on participatory storytelling, may help to elaborate new ways of sharing information and document technologies, as well as showing their validity through individual case studies.
