Abstract The Case Study on the Network of Agrarian Technical Institutes of Umbria (Italy) Open Data , was carried out within the ODApps Umbria project: "The school as an access to open data / open source in Umbria, for the agriculture and territory operators, through smartphone App and development of widespread digital skills" (Annual program for incentivizing Openness projects - 2014). In this context a pool of libraries belonging to five institutions has been involved: the Technical Agriculture Schools: "Cassata - Gattapone" of Gubbio; "Ciuffelli" of Todi; "Patrizi - Baldelli - Cavallotti" of Città di Castello; "S. Anatolia di Narco" of Cerreto di Spoleto; The Zooprofilattico Sperimentale Institute of Umbria and Marche (Italy). The libraries carried out the activity of information, study and selection related to the Open Datasets that can be managed by their own Scholastic Institute. The work was particularly aimed to collecting useful information in the field of Agriculture and the environment. Students and various subjects in the territory were involved, they have collaborated in the design of an open access data set, operating through an "open" editorial group. The case study verified the possibility of setting up data sets using, where necessary, references and publications deriving from accredited scientific literature. The editorial activity was supported by thee-journal SPVet.it, an Open Access scientific journal, which uses Social Peer Review to review published articles. Thanks to the work of the editorial groups, Open Data have been identified and elaborated for a future placement in the regional Open Data repertoire of Umbria (Italy).
